Causes of Dermatitis

It can include a viral infection, dry skin, genetic makeup, a hyperactive immune system, conditions and allergies. The following are the few significant causes of dermatitis.

Environment

Possible environmental factors include exposure to smoke and some air pollutants. Different types of contaminants, or the ones released from the factory, cause harm. Remember to wash your hands after handling outside things. You can also use sanitiser. Outdoor dust also harms your body. Cover your body before going out of the house. Wash your hands thoroughly when you come from outside. Some people drink unsafe water, due to which they suffer from many diseases, before eating or drinking anything from outside. The doctor suggests applying cream so that it does not itch.

Hyperactive Immune System

Your immune system may react to generally harmless environmental substances if you are born with specific genes. We refer to these substances as allergens. A hyperactive immune system is most commonly manifested as an allergic reaction. It reacts to allergies or tiny irritants if you have atopic dermatitis. There are lots of things that could weaken your immune system. Your immune system protects your body from infections, including harmful viruses, bacteria, and germs that aim to injure you.

We get high blood pressure by overthinking about ourselves. Due to stress, we get many other diseases like:- heart disease, diabetes, ETC. We can reduce stress by doing yoga.

  3. Enough Sleep:

People should take 8/9 hours of sleep to keep their body healthy.

Excessive consumption of alcohol may lead to the development of major diseases like heart disease, liver disease and cancer and ultimately harms the immune system.

If this disease runs in your family, there is a high chance that you will get this disease.

Types Of Dermatitis

  1. Atopic Dermatitis:

Atopic dermatitis is a common condition that causes skin swelling and irritation.

  2. Contact Dermatitis:

Contact dermatitis is an allergic reaction to a chemical or direct contact resulting in an itchy rash. Employment involving specific metals, solvents, or cleaning items can raise your risk of developing contact dermatitis. There is a connection between hand dermatitis and healthcare work.

  3. Diaper Dermatitis:

It is an irritable rash caused by contact with something or an allergic reaction. Most cases of diaper dermatitis are mild, self-limiting, and require little medical attention. A few of the management strategies are using skincare items, practising good hygiene, and avoiding anything that irritates the skin.

  4. Dyshidrotic Dermatitis:

It may include allergies, stress, and frequently moist, sweaty hands and feet.

  5. Neurodermatitis:

Something that irritates the skin, like an insect bite or tight clothing, can cause it.

  6. Perioral Dermatitis:

Around the mouth, there are small irritating papules and pustules, or pink, scaly areas.

Remedies For Dermatitis

Moisturise your skin daily. You can apply cream or ointment. Apply once or twice a day. Lotions and creams generally protect the skin. Avoid rubbing and scratching the affected areas. Cover it with a dressing if you cannot stop scratching the irritated area. Stay away from the sun or take other protective safety measures until your skin heals. Use a gentle cloth to pat the skin after showering. Stay cautious of harsh rubbing.

Tips To Prevent Dermatitis

  • Avoid hot showers as they remove oil from the body. It causes the skin to get itchy and dry, which causes the rashes to break out on the body.
  • Soaps and detergents may include chemicals or fragrances that aggravate the condition. To prevent irritation, switch to natural or fragrance-free skincare items.
  • Change your clothes after getting wet in the rain because rain water contains germs, which may cause allergies.
